There is no “gap” between God and the world as the deists posit:

Above all, it means that God is constantly present with His creation to work out His purposes. Unlike the dualism of the Deistic Enlightenment, there is not a gap between God’s every-present control and the world of nature and science. He is not a distance clockmaker, who leaves the world to run on its own. He is always with it, superintending every aspect of its reality both seen and unseen.
